We're Here to Help! Testing, Repair or Replacements
Answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about our service and what to expect.
We have been providing backflow testing services since 2003, and have established a reputation for being a local backflow testing company that provides accurate testing and delivers excellent customer service.
Annual backflow testing is required by Washington Administrative Code (Section 246-290-490) and the Washington State Building Code (Section 603) which adopts and amends the Uniform Plumbing Code (Section 603). This critical process ensures that your backflow prevention assembly is functioning correctly, preventing potentially contaminated water from flowing back into the public clean water supply. It is essential for maintaining public health and safety.

Yes. For $10 we will submit and track the extension request on your behalf to the water purveyor. This small administration fee will be added to your invoice.
Yes! We automatically submit test results to your purveyor. In some instances this is done by entering the data through the water purveyor's online portal, and in other cases we email the approved report to the purveyor. You will receive a copy of the report along with your invoice after the test is completed.
Not to worry - we make note of every failed report and will automatically send you a bid to resolve the issue. In most cases we can do a backflow assembly repair, and in the event a backflow assembly replacement is needed we can do this work too. Whether a backflow repair or backflow replacement is done we will re-test the assembly and submit those results. These services are provided by our parent company, STOP Inc.
If we are testing your irrigation assembly and it is located outside and there is not a locked gate, then you do not need to be home. We will leave a doorhanger that indicates test results, and the detailed report along with the invoice will be emailed shortly after.
If there is a locked gate, or your assembly is located inside the home, you'll need to make an appointment with us for access by calling 425-427-8889.
While testing your own backflow assembly sounds like a way to save money, the reality is that the State of Washington requires backflow testing be done by a certified backflow tester. This ensures that the test is done correctly with measurements accurately recorded and reported to the water purveyor.
Washington State Department of Health (DOH) regulations require anyone who inspects, field tests, maintains and repairs backflow prevention assemblies, devices, and air gaps that protect the public water system to pass the state's certification examination and maintain a valid certificate.
Here at Certified Backflow Testing we ensure that every one of our backflow assembly testers stay current with required annual certification. We make the process very simple for you, so give us a call today at 425-427-8889 to get your assembly tested.
