Late for your backflow test? Need repairs? We can help!
Here's what happens when you schedule the local, friendly certified Backflow Assembly Testers (BATs) from Certified Backflow Testing. Find out why thousands of homeowners trust CBT with their backflow testing every year!
Typically, homeowners or businesses with a backflow assembly will receive a reminder in the mail detailing the need for an annual backflow test. This letter will have specific assembly information, which we will need if we have not tested this backflow assembly before. Please also make note of where on your property your yard box is located. We can request an extension on your behalf to the water purveyor for an additional $10.
This is the most important step! Get the best backflow testing service by calling CBT at 425-427-8889!
If your backflow assembly is inside the home or business, we will set an appointment with you for testing on a specific day within a 4 hour window. Due to incredible demand, our schedules are very tight, so if you miss your appointment for some reason, we do add a $15 fuel surcharge fee to the reschedule. Most of the residential backflow testing that we do is for irrigation systems. This is always located outside of the home in what is called a "yard box". You do not need to be home for us to access this. For maximum efficiency we group exterior assembly testing by location but rest assured we will get your test done and submitted within your respective water purveyor's testing schedule.
During your test we use our calibrated backflow test kits to obtain pressure readings that indicate if that backflow assembly will successfully prevent backflow from your structure to the public water system. We carefully record the readings and prepare an individual report for each assembly we test. Our backflow test reports show the purveyor the various readings from your assembly as well as confirming the make, model and serial number of your assembly.
Ultimately, the water purveyor gets a pass or fail score for your assembly from our test. If your assembly passes, the only thing left to do is ensure you're on our auto-test list for the next year! Sometimes assemblies do fail, for any number of reasons, and your water purveyor may shut off water unless you schedule timely repair or replacement of that assembly.
If your backflow assembly fails, there's no need to panic - but there is a need to take action in a timely manner. Your water purveyor will require that the repair or replacement of the assembly be done in order to prevent turning off the water to your property. We automatically forward your failed report to our plumbing division at STOP Inc (our parent company) and you will receive a quote for repair or replacement within 48 hours of your original test.
After the report is electronically submitted to the water purveyor, we email you a copy of the report along with the invoice for the service. Note that both the invoice and the charge to your credit card may show up as STOP Inc (our parent company), or abbreviated to show "Intuit", "Quicken" or "Quickbooks".
